Loburg - LoburgLive presents: Non-Alignment Pact (darkwave/post-punk)

Friday 12 January from 23:00 to 02:00

Non-Alignment Pact captures the Zeitgeist of now by playing a modern style-mix of melodic darkwave and raw post-punk.

Subjects like the Cold War, the nuclear treat, terrorism and the escalating arms race seemed something of the past, but are more relevant than ever.

The band translates this into energetic songs, sometimes characterised by depressing wave, sometimes by the anger and despair of punk.

Their debut album “////” (2016) was well-received by Dutch and Belgian press. Especially the Flemish darkwave scene picked up the music resulting in appearances at Judgement Fest and Gentse Feesten. In the Netherlands the band played venues in Eindhoven, Den Bosch, Nijmegen and Arnhem and a support show for China Crisis.

Non-Alignment Pact was founded in 2012 by Martijn Huijgen (vox, guitar, synths), Ger Hermsen (guitar), Tjaco van Cromvoirt (drums) and Marcus Fressmann (bass).

“Non-Alignment Pact has a powerful sound. It is obvious that they have delivered a strong debut with “////”.” 3voor12 Gelderland (NL)

“…”////” is an absolute must for postpunk fans who do not need radio-friendly tunes!” peek-a-boo-magazine (B)

“The four boys from Nijmegen made a solid post-punk album that can be situated between the raw sound of Gang Of Four and the genius of Agent Side Grinder.” Altvenger.com (GB)

“If there will be an actual 80’s revival, Non-Alignment Pact will be first in line.” White Room Reviews (NL)

“Dutch postpunk in all it’s glory” Dark Entries (B)

BBLTHK - Quiet Is The New Loud with Alain Fournier

Thursday 11 January from 20:45 to 23:00

To help you start your year off smooth, on thursday the 11th of January we will have 2018's first edition of Quiet is the new loud!

For this month's musical masterpiece we will have a solo performance by Alain Fournier, also known as AlascA's Frank Bond!

Alain Fournier, AlascA's lead vocalist

After its debut Actors & Liars, AlascA decided to welcome the best of country music to its sound to evolve into what they call European Country. The result was Prospero, an album that revealed an expanded rich and rawer palette that includes mariachi trumpets, slide guitars, Morricone-influenced production elements and a saloon piano that sounds like it was rescued from a flooded New Orleans basement.

Reviews of the album Prospero:
De Volkskrant
“There should no longer be any doubt whatsoever. AlascA makes albums of great significance"
★★★★

De Telegraaf
"Beautiful record with a highly unique and playful concept"

Lust for Life
"AlascA's Prospero is a classy and tasteful showcase of extraordinary songwriting talent in the rich genre of alternative country music"
★★★★

MusicMaker
"The combination of country pop and the wide western sound inspired by Ennio Morricone make these songs unique. I don't know anything like it."

As usual, the tunes will be played in De Bblthk in Wageningen, and entry will be free. Mind you, this grand opening of 2018 will be on a thursday, to give you something to look forward to during the rest of the week.

It promises to be a night to remember, so be there or be square!
